This notice explains how Solar Made Easy Ltd ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you use the Solar Funding Score on solarmadeeasy.uk and when we follow up about funded solar.

Who we are

Solar Made Easy Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17174432), registered office 24-26 Friar Lane, Leicester, LE1 5RA. We are the data controller for the information you provide.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration reference C1963376.

What we collect

When you complete the Solar Funding Score we collect the details you enter, which may include:

• Your name, work email and (optionally) phone number;
• Your company name, industry and county;
• Your site address and roof information (size, type, usable area);
• Your electricity usage or annual spend, and whether you own or lease the building;
• Where you choose to provide them, a copy of a recent energy bill and/or your MPAN (electricity supply number).

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to assess whether your site may qualify for fully funded solar, to produce your indicative score, and to contact you about next steps. Where you provide a bill or MPAN, we also use it to check whether we can reduce your energy procurement costs. Our lawful bases are:

• Consent — which you give by ticking the box on the form — to contact you and to share your details with our partners (see below);
• Legitimate interests — to respond to your enquiry and run our lead-generation service.

You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us; this won't affect processing already carried out.

Who we share it with

Depending on your result, we pass your details to one of our partners so they can help you:

• Our accredited installation partner (Urban Volt) — if your site looks suitable for funded solar, so they can prepare an estimate;
• Business Utility Renewals Ltd — our energy procurement partner — if solar isn't the best fit, or if you ask us to check your procurement costs.

We also use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf: our website host (Netlify), our form/notification provider (Web3Forms), and Google Maps (to display the map and look up addresses). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as UK/EU-approved data transfer mechanisms) are in place.

We do not sell your data, and we will not add you to marketing lists without your separate consent.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry data only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our legitimate business records — normally no longer than 24 months — after which it is securely deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us at john@bur.co.uk.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

The map feature on our site is provided by Google and may set cookies necessary for it to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
